Choosing a mirror that is too small is the most common decorating mistake we see. A well-sized mirror looks intentional, reflects more light and makes the whole room feel bigger. Use these simple rules for every room in your home.
The two-thirds rule
When a mirror hangs above furniture such as a console, sideboard or sofa, it should be about two-thirds of the furniture width. A 120 cm console looks best with a mirror around 80 cm wide.

How high should you hang a mirror?
Hang the centre of a wall mirror at about 150 cm from the floor, which is average eye level. Above furniture, leave 15 to 25 cm between the top of the furniture and the bottom of the mirror. In bathrooms, the top of the mirror usually lines up with the top of the door frame.
Round, arch or rectangle?
Round mirrors soften rooms full of straight lines and suit bathrooms and entrances. Arch mirrors add height and a touch of Arabic architecture. Rectangles are the most practical for dressing and grooming. Capsule mirrors are a modern choice for narrow walls.
